Blue sheds
I am drawn to blue it appears: these small sheds in a La Palma harbour caught my eye and the eye of the camera.
View ArticleFishing Boat
In front of yesterday’s blue sheds was this fishing boat with her beautiful lines. It is quite small and the Atlantiv is not always friendly around there. It must be a feat to brave the waves in it.
View ArticleAuxilliary Boats
The name of the ship these tiny boats belong to is written on its poop. So the green one belongs to the “5 Hermanos” (wonderful name).
View ArticleFish & Insect
These two dead animals we saw in the bilge water inside one of yesterday’s auxilliary boats. Almost surrealistic.
View ArticleCeci n\’est pas des Chats
“Chats” as name for this boat probably does not mean “cats” (in French). So the association of a painting by Magritte does not make a lot of sense. Still, I could not resist it.

Would not it be nice to sit in the sun on this porch with a beer and a book…

Back to La Palma; this small building is standing in the same harbour as the blue sheds of a few days ago.

This playing field is on the edge of the sea. Any ball not caught disappears into the waves.

On one of our walks among the La Palma hills we came across this picturesque but abandoned house.

In Roman Catholic countries are these kind of small chapels along the roads. Also on La Palma: this is a nice one I thought.

Quite a large farm with sprawling outhouses, but it has not been lived in for many years. The land around it is being tilled, but, as in many places, it is difficult to make a living out of a farm. The...

Another shot of yesterday’s farm. There are not many things that look sadder than empty doorways like this one. Generations of people have crossed its threshold but now no one does and cactus-like...
View ArticleStunted Tree
On the same walk we came across this old gnarled tree, or the remains of it: the stump has been cut off a long time ago. It probably is an almond tree.
View ArticleStunted Tree II
This one was not far from yesterday’s one, and it looks a bit like it, but I did not want to leave it out.
View ArticlePalm
A special kind of palmtree which is rather picturesque and reminds me of the plants that occur in the stories of Krazy Kat. The Atlantic is in the distance.
View ArticleGrowth
A nice example of the variety of plants that grow in the tropics. Some old sheds and the Atlantic in the background.

Would I choose these colours to go together? Still: remarkable and also beautiful!
